In March, the Green Bay Packers thought they had dodged that occurrence with the “retirement” of Brett Favre. At that press conference in Green Bay, an emotional Favre noted that, while he felt he could still play, he had nothing left to give to the game. Of course, Favre had danced around retirement for the last several years and had always come back to play. Given that he actually took the step this time to “officially” announce his retirement, there was no reason other than wishful thinking for anyone not to take him at his word. Full Story
