The butterflies in the stomachs of Bucs fans everywhere were waiting for the first contact of the Pre-Season before they would subside. It didn’t take long to satisfy those butterflies. On the opening kickoff, Safety Donte Nicholson put a good pop on the Dolphins kick returner…and from there, you just sat back and watched. Although most people consider these exhibition games meaningless…They are far from that if you want to get the right 53 men on your roster for opening day. With that hit, Nicholson may have taken one step closer to being one of those 53 men. On the very next play Barrett Ruud stopped Ronnie Brown behind the line of scrimmage for a one yard loss. And that set the tone for the Bucs defense as they allowed the Dolphins to rack up only 198 yards on offense throughout the game.
