(by Michael Smith - PackerChatters Staff) - The Packers open the preseason against the Cleveland Browns at legendary Lambeau Field on Saturday night. Hopefully, if you have been reading my articles, you can tell that football and I have a very unhealthy relationship. Some would even call me “sick”. Anyway, due to my problems I will be recording the first pre-season game and breaking down the film for a little Monday morning analysis on packerchatters. However, if you aren’t a football deviant like me here are 10 things to watch even when all the starters are on the sidelines.

The first time we heard the Cleveland Browns had a must win was when they prepared for their Sunday night showdown in week two against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both media and fans alike said the Browns must beat the Steelers, they did not. We then heard from Phil Savage, the General Manager of the Browns, a week later. According to him the Baltimore Ravens game was a must win, they did not win that one either. Now with the defending Super Bowl champions coming to town on Monday Night Football the Browns truly have a must win game. Full Story

There was no pride for the Browns on Sunday. There was no, “You’re gonna have to work for every inch in our house,” on Sunday. There was no aggression on Sunday, moxie, attitude. Cleveland resembled the “new” teams of old, resurrecting the “pathetic” label we so infamously earned while playing without emotion. Dallas walked all over us. Full Story

So, when does the light go on for a professional athlete? You know the light, the one that says “I’m not bigger than the game or the team I play on”. The same light says “I’ve made enough money, I’ve won championships, now I want to leave a legacy”. That light has gone off for veteran running back of the Cleveland Browns Jamal Lewis. No these really aren’t lottery numbers, and no, I can’t fix the lottery for us so we can all cash in, get rich and retire to Berea. Its simply a way to look into the future by looking into the past. Looking at the 80, 86, and 07 seasons, and wondering if we can see some of the same magic in 08. So what do those seasons have in common?
