Game Preview - Packers vs Seahawks

One win.
Right now, that’s the only thing on the minds of players and coaches as the Packers prepare to take on Seattle this Sunday. And although the cliché of taking things one game at a time is just that – a cliché, it holds especially true for a Packer team reeling, trying to grasp at just the smallest of victories to boost their confidence.
Just a mere six weeks ago this Green Bay team was being looked at as one of the few teams in the NFL with a legitimate shot at reaching the holy grail of victories – the Super Bowl. But now, after injuries have taken their toll, and players have under-performed, the picture has shrunken considerably.

After Dallas - What do we know?

September 22, 2008 By: shockzilla Category: Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers Comments Off

The feeling in Wisconsin by most Packer fans after week two of the NFL season was that this current Packer team was indeed a viable contender in the NFC. After a very mediocre pre-season the Pack started the regular season with victories over Minnesota and Detroit. The Vikings seem to be a one man gang on offense with Adrian Peterson and their defense lacks in both the linebacking corp and secondary. The Lions are a mess on both side of the ball yet actually rallied from a 21-3 deficit to lead at one point 25-24 before the Packers pulled away for a comfortable victory. The question was, just how good is this Packers team?

Game Preview - Dallas at Green Bay

September 18, 2008 By: shockzilla Category: Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers Comments Off

By Bruce Smith - PackerChatters Staff Writer. Part 1 - Bon Appetit, Fine Dining for Sunday Dinner
I fully expect a great game in Green Bay on Sunday night with some great matchups to sate the taste buds of even the pickiest football coneseur when the Cowboys and Packers get it on at Lambeau.
It starts with two very good young QBs, Tony Romo and Aaron Rodgers –both of whom are off to great starts this season.
Romo and Rodgers can beat you with their feet or arms, and both keep plays alive until the last possible moment. Rodgers has the stronger arm, but Romo has the quicker release. Both are accurate passers, especially if give the time to survey the field.
Romo, with his vertical passing game can sometimes lock in on a receiver too quick – especially if you rattle him. As good as Romo is he still can be rattled if you hit him early and often – witness the home playoff loss against the Giants last season for just one example.

How Important Was Favre To The Packers?

August 08, 2008 By: shockzilla Category: Green Bay Packers Comments Off

Written by C. D. Angeli - PackerChatters Staff. An interesting discussion/ debate/ argument over the past few weeks of the Summer Melodrama has been how important Favre has been to the Packers. With his trade to the Jets today, we shall soon get a pretty strong idea of what it will be like without his large shadow looming over the team. There are folks on one side of the issue, most voraciously in defense of Brett Favre, who are insisting that Favre was pretty much single-handedly responsible for the renaissance of the 1990’s, that it was he who pulled the organization out from the muck that was the 70’s and 80’s. They also claim that he was responsible for influencing Reggie White to come to the Packers, and without him, the new Lambeau Field would never have been built. Read more….

Packers sign 1st pick Jordy Nelson

July 26, 2008 By: shockzilla Category: Green Bay Packers Comments Off

Written by PackerChatters Staff. The Packers have agreed to terms on a four-year contract with wide receiver Jordy Nelson, their first draft pick in the April draft. No other terms were disclosed. That leaves quarterback Brian Brohm as the only unsigned draft pick. Brohm’s contract should get done as well after the Miami Dolphins and Chad Henne reportedly agreed on a four-year, $3.5 million contract. Henne was taken one pick after Brohm and both are represented by the same agency. Read more…
