Written by Joe Arrigo - PackerChatters Staff. Well, it seems a trade that would send Brett Favre to an undisclosed team is on the horizon but the question remains, WHERE? Well, I have heard, from various people and friends of mine, that there are 6 teams interested in Favre, they are the Buccaneers, Dolphins, Jets, Redskins, Panthers and Bills. The Jets are reportedly not in the running because of “cap constraints” and the Redskins are “not open to Favre” because of their belief in Jason Campbell and the price tag (the dealt their 2nd rounder to Miami for Jason Taylor and don’t want to give up their 1st round pick). So that leaves 4 teams. Read more…

Written by C. D. Angeli - PackerChatters Staff. Ron Wolf is the real guy who brought glory back to Titletown. As the GM hired back in 1992, he was the mastermind who brought in guys like Mike Holmgren, Brett Favre, Reggie White, and won a Super Bowl in a brilliant five-year plan. The other night at the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, nearly everyone put the recent Thompson/Favre drama on hold, except the media, of course, who made sure to pepper everyone with a question about the situation. Most of them, thankfully, declined to comment, including Favre, who despite concerns about whether or not he’d show up or be a distraction, was a classy pro all night. Read more…

No these really aren’t lottery numbers, and no, I can’t fix the lottery for us so we can all cash in, get rich and retire to Berea. Its simply a way to look into the future by looking into the past. Looking at the 80, 86, and 07 seasons, and wondering if we can see some of the same magic in 08. So what do those seasons have in common? Those seasons represent some of the best in Browns history since the merger. Read More

Written by Joe Arrigo - PackerChatters Staff. The one person that is caught in the middle of the whole ‘Favre Files’ (as the X-Files song plays in the background) is Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers has waited for 3 years, done all the right things publicly and, a side from his comments a few weeks back, said all the right things from day 1. He has progressed as a player and as a person. He has started to take ownership of the Packers and now he is forced into answering extremely difficult questions about a situation he has no control over. More…

So much has been made of and said about Cleveland Browns WR Joe Jurevicius’ knee. He has now had a reported 3 additional surgeries on his knee after being afflicted with a staph infection following a routine procedure on the knee. Rumors are also persisting that he will ultimately retire before the season starts. We thought it would be time to take a look at what JJ’s loss would mean to the Browns both good and possibly bad. Written by Mike Pingel - PackerChatters Staff. As my friend Chris of Packers Therapy is fond of saying, ‘when it ends, it never ends well’. In March, the Green Bay Packers thought they had dodged that occurrence with the “retirement” of Brett Favre. At that press conference in Green Bay, an emotional Favre noted that, while he felt he could still play, he had nothing left to give to the game. Of course, Favre had danced around retirement for the last several years and had always come back to play. Given that he actually took the step this time to “officially” announce his retirement, there was no reason other than wishful thinking for anyone not to take him at his word. Full Story

The second installment of our NFL preview features the running backs. I’ve chosen to rank 32 RBs, but not necessarily one from each team. Also, this is not a fantasy football ranking. Fantasy football sucks, and I’m ranking guys based more on pure statistics.

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Don Denkinger’s pre-training camp NFL power rankings. From the final week of the preseason through 17 weeks of the regular season, I will be ranking the teams each Wednesday. To begin, I project 10 out of the 12 2007 playoff teams to return to the playoffs, including all six from the AFC. I have broken my list into six tiers listing their strengths and weaknesses. I have also drawn out the course of the playoffs to the Super Bowl winner. I invite all to discuss my predictions in the forum… MORE
