For much of the first half yesterday, it appeared as if neither team wanted to win what could have been the NFL equivalent of college football’s Poulan Weedeater Bowl. Both Tampa Bay and Seattle took turns fumbling, bumbling and stumbling through a sloppy, mistake-riddled first two quarters, and when the fog settled the Bucs trailed by only four points, 7-3, at the break.

But with the way Tampa Bay has played on the West Coast the past decade, no one could have guessed the second quarter touchdown Matt Hasselbeck threw to John Carlson would be Seattle’s only score of the game.
